Works in Progress

  • Housing Retrofit Program & Zero Energy Modular Housing Strategy Feasibility Study: In partnership with Vermont Energy Investment Corporation, we are developing a feasibility study to implement a housing retrofit program to create energy efficient homes. Our aim is to eventually perform a feasibility study that looks to invest and implement a zero energy modular housing strategy.

  • Our developing long-term project focuses on food sovereignty and workforce development. We seek to reconnect with the land and grow fresh food crops that can supply a community co-op store on the reservation. Our partners include Montana Indigenous Food Sovereignty Initiative, Broken Ground Permaculture, local nonprofits who have a focus on food security and sovereignty, and local food growers (tribal and non-tribal).

This project is in the planning phase. Please check back for more updates.

  • Awakening Pathfinders is a next step program to support and provide guidance for our upcoming generation of leaders.

We aim to work with upcoming juniors and seniors on the next step of their lives whether that is college preparation, vocational trades, or any other decision they deem fit for their lives.

Inspired by Hopa Mountain’s Indigenous Scholars of Promise Program, Awakening Pathfinders is a next-level readiness program that will provide workshops and support for students to apply and prepare for the next step in life after high school. Our goal is to assist and support our Apsáalooke youth for the next step in life with hopes that they, too, will obtain their degrees then return to our community.

Applications will launch June 8th, 2026.
