Apsaalooke Immiio
For the well-being of our people, we will secure economic prosperity and environmental justice by growing knowledge and diversifying skills for Apsáalooke as well as practice the responsible use and protection of our land, resources, and capacities.
Established in December 2024, Apsaalooke Immiio is dedicated to increasing community and social capacity, securing environmental justice, and contributing to cultural preservation efforts on the Crow Reservation.
Our role is to promote community readiness by activating and building the capacity of our people. To achieve Apsáalooke independence, our hope is to establish avenues for our people to feel empowered, whole, and sovereign as individuals in today’s society. By supporting one another through skill-building, knowledge sharing, technical training, and community education, we can better position our community to secure environmental justice and a good future for our land and people.
We are an Apsáalooke-made and Crow Reservation based grassroots nonprofit organization.
Our Pillars
-
We are dedicated to building individual and community capacity by fostering the skills, knowledge, resources and sovereignty of our people to find pathways to prosperity.
-
As the original stewards of this land, it is our responsibility to care for our land, waters and people. Environmental justice to us includes food sovereignty, energy efficiency, renewable energy, reducing electricity burdens, carbon reduction, and climate adaptation.
-
It is important that we contribute to efforts that maintain our Bíiluuke way of life. We are committed to investing in cultural opportunities and pathways for learning our language, dances, history, and lands. We feel it is our responsibility to provide spaces and programming that support, educate, and uphold our youth and culture.
Serving Crow Country
We are strong believers in for us, by us.
We are happy to serve our Apsáalooke people on the Crow Reservation in southeastern Montana. We are proud to call Crow country home and to still be thriving on our ancestral lands where our tobacco seed was rooted.
